It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Jean P. Elliott of Greenville, SC — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.
What remains is memory — and the gratitude of those she loved.
Jean held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
The traditions Jean loved will continue to hold those she loved.
Jean P. Elliott, 95, beloved wife of the late Ervin Elliott, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
Born in Greer, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha Burrell Pittman.
Jean was a longtime faithful member of City View First Baptist Church. She was especially known for her thoughtful "Prayer Pillows," which she lovingly created and gifted to those she lifted up in prayer. Jean truly believed in the power of prayer and lived her life as a reflection of her faith.
She was a friend to everyone she met and was known for her kind spirit, strong faith, and unwavering devotion to her family. Jean's life was marked by compassion, generosity, and a genuine love for others.
To know Jean was to love her. She made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
She is survived by daughters, Debbie Lesley, Diane Lipscomb (Steve), Donna Hayes (Darrel Lanford); son, Tommy Elliott (Susan); daughter-in-law, Kim Elliott.
Grandchildren, Kim Lesley, Nick Lesley, Justin Hayes (Megan), Sel Lipscomb, Courtney McLaughlin (Lane), Lance Lipscomb (Amanda), Hunter Lipscomb, Myles Elliott (Blair), Chantel McBride (Michael), Zachary Elliott, Chase Lesley, Alexis Calavano (Antonio), Matt Elliott (Grace).
Great grandchildren, Emmerson, Walker, Logan, Gavin, Elliott, Michael, Reese, Rollins, Giselle, Rome, Elizabeth Blake, and Hampton.
Brother, Louis Pittman (Annie); sister-in-law, Helen Pittman.
She was preceded in death by her son, Timmy Elliott; son-in-law, Ron Lesley; sisters Dot Shephard, Helen Bishop, and Jewel Rogers; brother, Ralph Pittman.
A visitation will be held Monday, May 11, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at City View First Baptist Church, with the funeral to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Graceland Cemetery West.
