It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Martha Ellen Ricker of Erwin, TN — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.

These words are offered in her memory — small, but heartfelt.

Martha held deeply to the Baptist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

The traditions Martha loved will continue to hold those she loved.

Martha Ellen McIntosh Ricker, age 93, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the Center on Aging and Health, in Erwin. She was born February 26th, 1933, in Spindale, North Carolina to the late Richard and Axie McIntosh. Martha was preceded in death by her eldest son, Bruce, her brothers Garland, Kenneth, Howard and Foy, along with her husband of 65 years, Warren Ricker.

Martha is survived by her sister Pauline {Polly} Rice and brother Andy {A D} McIntosh, her children Dianne, June and Steve, many nieces and nephews and her precious grandchildren.

Martha attended First Baptist Church in Erwin as her health permitted. She loved to read and had many books. She also loved doing Artwork. Martha spent 65 years in Michigan where she was a Homemaker and also a Nurse. She had many friends that she loved spending time shopping and going out to eat with. Martha was very family oriented.

No formal services will be held per Martha's request

To know her was to love her! And to always remember her Sweet Smile.
