It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Pamela Dickens of Independence, MO — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.

Pamela Dickens, age 72, of Independence MO , passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026 from complications from stroke.
A visitation will be held Thursday, 1:00-2:00 PM, May 7th, 2026 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO. A memorial will be follow at 2:00PM at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society. Memorial contributions may be made to American Stroke Association (ASA) .
She was born on March 29, 1954 in Springfield Hospital. Pamela spent 30 years working for a large publishing firm as a mail clerk as well as a part time waitress for many years. Loved spending her quiet time with her family and pets. Enjoyed gardening, ceramics, fishing, and going to garage sales. Loved her granddaughter, Hollyn, tremendously as well as all her family. Was a born again believer and looked forward to the day of being with the Lord and being re-united with her loved ones.
Pamela was preceded in death by: husband, Thomas "Tommy" Dickens; mother, Edna Achens; and father, Carl Achens. She is survived by: son, Michael Achens; many nieces and nephews; sister, Janet Campbell; brother, George Achens; daughter-in-law, Shannan Achens; and granddaughter, Hollyn Achens.
