It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Phyllis Malone of Memphis, TN — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.
These are some of the moments and memories that shaped her story.
A parent's life is measured, in part, by the lives she shaped.
Phyllis Malone, 63, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and unwavering resilience. Born to the late Lessie B. Jones and Howard, Phyllis lived a life marked by deep devotion to her family and an unshakeable spirit that inspired everyone who knew her.
She retired from FedEx in 2018, closing a meaningful chapter of hard work and dedication. Yet her greatest joy was always found in the people she loved. She was the proud mother of two children, Alfred Malone, Jr. and Alesha Malone, and the cherished grandmother of Jordan Malone and Adarrian Jones, who brought light and laughter into her life.
Phyllis is also survived by her four siblings-Jeryl Ford, Gloria Jackson, Yolanda Crutcher, and Clarice Jeffries-each of whom shared a lifelong bond with her rooted in love, loyalty, and family.
She was known for her vibrant personality, her love of shopping, dining out, and taking road trips, and the joy she found in simply being surrounded by those she cared for. Even in her battles with cancer, her strength never wavered. She faced every challenge with grace, courage, and faith.
Her life reflects the words of 2 Timothy 4:7: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
And we find comfort in Revelation 21:4: "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."
Phyllis will be deeply missed, but her love, her spirit, and her example will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
The visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN Saturday, May, 9, 2026 from 2:30 p.m. until the service to honor her at 3:30 p.m.
