Ricky D. Roberts, 64, of Owensboro passed away suddenly Monday, May 4, 2026, at his residence. The Daviess County native was born August 5, 1961, to the late Edward Roberts and Lucille Reynolds Roberts. Ricky graduated from McLean County High School with the class of 1980 where he played baseball and football. After several years working as a farm hand, Ricky became a Boilermaker and worked through Local 374. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and riding ATV’s. Ricky loved dogs, especially his two current pets, Max and Bandit. Having strong opinions and being outspoken, you always knew where Ricky stood on an issue.In addition to his parents, Ricky also was preceded in death by his daughter, Gloria Roberts in 2023 and two grandchildren, Waymon Allen Roberts and Whitlyn Jean Roberts.Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 13 years, Melody Ballard Roberts; four children, Misty Roberts, Greg Roberts (Danielle), Kari Johnson (Chris), and Keith Cook (Tabitha); 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild; step-mother, Bonnie Roberts; four siblings, Byron Roberts (Cindy), Randy Roberts (Shelly), Sammy Roberts (Diane), and Paul Roberts (Christine); several nieces and nephews.The memorial service for Ricky Roberts will be noon Monday, May 11 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with same day visitation from 10:00 until 11:30 am.Condolences and memories for Ricky’s family may be left at www.glenncares.com.
