Transito Vito Augustine Gonzales, age 92, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on May 2, 2026. Mr. Gonzales is survived by his children, Maxine Gonzales and husband, Rudy, Georgia Lujan and husband, Sammy, Ruby Apodaca and husband, Johnny, Cindy Chavez, Liz Rivera and husband, Tony, Bonnie Segura and husband Jose, and Tracy Gonzales; sisters, Dora Lopez, Manuelita Gonzales; brother, Tony Vigil; twenty-six grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; twenty great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tudy Gonzales; daughter, Debra Sais, grandson, Samuel Lujan, and grand daughter, Brittney Sais. Mr. Gonzales served his country proudly and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW, Funeral Service will be at 12:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be, Anthony Rivera, Patrick Chavez, Victor Gonzales, Matthew Apodaca, Mark Apodaca and Michael Apodaca.
