After a life of love and quiet grace, Karen Diane Haley of Minneapolis, MN has passed.

What we offer here is gratitude wrapped in remembrance.

Karen held deeply to the Lutheran faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Those who live by belief leave a different kind of mark.

Karen Diane Haley (Piehl) 82 years Born January 13, 1944 and passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026. Survived by her husband John (Jack) Haley, children Todd (Debbie) Jung, Tami Jung, Joey (Bel) JeDai, bonus children John Haley, Kris (Dann) Francen and Jim (Natalie) Haley, 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild, sisters Gerry Nehotte, Vicki Jenkins, many loving nieces and nephews and her very special friends "The Colonial Girls". Preceded in death by husband Kenny Chlian, infant son Jeffrey, parents Harold and Alvina, brothers Sonny, Dennis, Terry Piehl and her lifelong friend Kathy. Karen was born in North Dakota but spent most of her life in Minnesota to include Alexandria, Minneapolis and eventually moving to Sauk Centre. Once her children were grown, she went back to school receiving a Bachelor's degree in accounting and went to work for the State of MN. Karen was known as "one of a kind" not only because of her quick wit and great laughter but her sincere kindness and caring heart. If you met her once you became "her family". Her unconditional love for her family and friends was very much part of her and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Thank you to the staff at CentraCare Hospital in St. Cloud for their tremendous support and outstanding care. Funeral will be held at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria, MN at noon on May 6 th with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m with lunch at the church following the service. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetary following the luncheon. Arrangements are being provided by Billman-Hunt Funeral Chapel in N.E. Minneapolis.
