After a life of love and quiet grace, Melissa Mechea Boyd Daniels, 58, of Abilene, TX has passed.

A life remembered begins, simply, with the telling.

The story begins in 1968, with the arrival of a life that would be cherished by many.

Melissa spent her working life as ['Abilene ISD as well as a laundry aid for nursing homes'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

The lessons of a parent travel forward, often without their name attached.

Melissa Mechea Boyd Daniels, known and loved as "Missy" passed away at the age of 58. She was born on February 15, 1968, and raised in Abilene, Texas.Missy was the daughter of Katherine Shannon, a loving sister to Debra Rudder and Delena McLemore, and a devoted wife to Charlie Daniels, with whom she shared 24 years of marriage.She was a proud and loving mother and an incredibly devoted grandmother. She is survived by her children, Ashley Brown, Jessica Brown, Shannon Brown and her precious grandchildren; Sarah Brown, Melissa Nikaelynn Brown, Hannah Tovias, Rebekah Tovias and Adley Woodall as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family and close friends. Her grandkids were her heart and brought her so much joy. Preceding Missy in death was her mother, Katherine Shannon, father, Chester Branch, husband, Charlie Daniels, sisters; Debra Rudder and Delena McLamore and brothers; Emmitt, Darrell and Clayburn Boyd as well as a granddaughter Adlynn Woodall.Missy loved being around her family and friends and had a special love for children. She ran her husband's business with him for many years until his death. Later she worked for Abilene ISD as well as a laundry aid for nursing homes. She found happiness in the simple things like riding around in the car and a good cup of coffee.More than anything Missy loved God deeply. She was a loving, caring mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend who always put her family first. She was a fighter till the very end, and she will deeply missed and forever loved.Until we see you again, we love you always!A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening May 6th from 5-7pm at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St with a graveside service to be held on Thursday May 7th at 11am in the Funston Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert "Namon" Kanady, Shannon Brown, Jude Strader, Grayson Young, Glen Braswell and Shawn Kanady.
