Patricia Smith of Des Moines, IA, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved her dearly.

What follows is not the whole story, but a thread of it.

The heart keeps better records than the calendar.

Patricia 'Tricia' Smith was an amazing woman...

She was devoted to her church, but she LOVED her kids and grandkids. Her oldest son, Jessie Smith, was her pride and joy. But her youngest, David Smith, was her heart because he was the baby/youngest. Then her 3 grandkids, Jemyah Smith, Da'Shar Smith, and Jessie Smith Jr., were her heart. She loved them dearly. Last but not least, her great-grandson Zay...If she wasn't in church, she was worried and concerned about them. Her life was built around her kids and grandkids... She was a loving woman; she would give you anything without hesitation. She had 9 siblings: Pat Patton, Anna Woods, Shirley Walker, Eveytt Scott, Alice Lee, Mary Lee, Trina Lee, Gary Lee, and Tina Lee. Her mother, Charlene Lee, and father, Gary Lee Sr. She loved her Aunt Catherine Weaver and looked up to her. And everything she taught her kids and grandkids, Tricia taught hers. She was deeply loved and will be missed.

Special thanks to Sertha Smith, her cousin, and her little cousin, Brittany Smith, and Tinesha Frazier for aiding and assisting her son through ALL of this and just helping him through everything...

She's gone but NEVER forgotten... We love you and miss you .....
