He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. He was born in Costilla, New Mexico and then moved to Avondale, Colorado where he spent all of his years growing up in his family home. He moved to the Southside of Pueblo in 1997 and that is where he resided until his recent transaction to Pueblo Heights. If you asked him most recently where home was, he said Avondale. He has always considered Avondale home. He was a man who wore many hats. You may have known him from Avondale, working on your car, reffing a basketball game, umpiring at a ball game, working with him at Pueblo District 70 Transportation Department, Pueblo Chemical Depot, Wilcoxson Buick-Cadillac, Nissan, his backyard mechanic shop or just the friendly neighbor who was always willing to help. He was always into some engine and when he was not doing that, he was fishing. Our family spent many weekends fishing with family across Colorado. The best fishing trips were the 4th of July trips to Lake DeWeese. After retirement, his grandchildren became his pride and joy. You could catch my Dad and Mom at most everything for the grandkids. Whether it was football, soccer, dance, cheer, softball, recitals, concerts, He was there. If he wasn't at their events, he was teaching them the tricks of his trade in mechanics or fishing.
We want to thank the Nursing Staff at Pueblo Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation for all the care he received this last year and a half. He fought a disease that took his mind long before he was ready to go.
He will be missed forever but never forgotten.
Services will be held on May 11th at 10am at Sacred Heart Church in Avondale, Colorado, with Rosary first and Mass to follow.
