With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Deborah Alderson of Evansville, IN.

Some stories deserve to be told slowly. This is one of them.

What is given freely returns in ways we cannot measure.

Deborah Alderson, who was born on December 31, 1949, in Monticello, Kentucky, and passed away on April 23, 2026, in Evansville, Indiana, was a gentle and loving woman whose sweet soul touched the lives of many.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend whose life was centered on the people she loved most. Deborah is survived by her son, Adam Alderson and Angie, and by her beloved grandchildren, Alyssa, Lela, Allie, and Aaron Jr. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Alex, Aryana, Addison, Autumn, Sisters Karen Preble and Jenni (Rex) Current and her nieces and nephews, who brought her great joy. Deborah treasured her family deeply and found her greatest happiness in spending time with them, sharing in their lives, and making memories that will be held close forever.

Deborah was preceded in passing by her parents, John and Betty (Barrier) Duncan, and by her son, Aaron Alderson and Brother, John Duncan. She was also preceded by many other family members and friends whom she loved dearly. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life, and she carried her love for them with grace and tenderness.

Deborah grew up in New Castle, Indiana. She graduated from Walter P. Chrysler Memorial High School, with the Class of 1968. She then attended the University of Evansville. For 30 years, Deborah dedicated herself to her work at Bristol Myers, where she was known for her steady presence, strong work ethic, and dependable nature. Her long career reflected the same quiet strength and commitment that she brought to every part of her life. She was respected by those who worked alongside her and appreciated for the kindness and sincerity she showed to others.

Outside of work, Deborah enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life meaningful to her. She loved family time above all else and took great comfort in being surrounded by those she cared for. She enjoyed cross stitch and found peace in the patience and care it required. Deborah also loved the finer things in life and had a special fondness for shopping, which brought her joy and delight. She was very giving by nature and had the sweetest soul, always ready to offer warmth, kindness, and a thoughtful gesture to those around her.

Those who knew Deborah will remember her as a woman of gentle spirit and loving heart. She had a way of making others feel cared for and valued, and her presence brought comfort and light to her family and friends.
