Douglas spent his working life as ['Ford Motor Company in Monroe'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

Grief is love with nowhere left to go.

Douglas B. Weaver

March 25, 1942 – May 4, 2026

Douglas Berry Weaver, age 84 of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2026, at home under hospice care.

Born March 25, 1942, in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Doug was the son of the late Lloyd and Maggie (Liford) Weaver. At the age of 10, his family moved to Monroe County. He was a graduate of Monroe High School.

Doug met and married the love of his life, Peggy Sanson, in Tennessee. Together they raised their family and spent many wonderful years together before Peggy sadly passed away in 2003.

Doug worked at Ford Motor Company in Monroe. He spent over 30 years of dedicated service before retiring. Doug was a past member of the Canvas Back Gun Club. In his spare time, Doug enjoyed going trap shooting. He even made his own shells. Doug also liked to go pheasant hunting when the season was right.

Doug loved going out to eat and would stop in at Monroe Grille every day. The staff there became like family. Doug was an avid Detroit sports fan and enjoyed watching any game. But especially going the Detroit Lions games to cheer them on. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Beloved father of Doug Weaver, Mike (Robert Foster) Weaver, Samantha Sanson, Paula Jo Sanson, and Shannon Ring. Loving grandfather of Chad, Skyler, and Amber. Great grandfather of Jaxson, Bryson, Bradley, Layla, and Oakleigh. Dear brother of Sue Hensley.

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by wife, Peggy Weaver.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Rupp Funeral Home from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. He will later be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park.
