Gilberto Alonzo, 57 of Mission, TX., passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026. Gilberto was born on May 11, 2026, in McAllen, TX., to Marcelino Alonzo and Juana Morales. He his preceded in death by his father Marcelino Alonzo and his sister Herminia. Mr. Alonzo is survived by his mother; Juana Morales Alonzo, his daughter; Fancy Fantasia Plata, his four grandchildren; Anthony Josue Yanes Plata, Dominic Yanes Plata, Natalie Yanes Plata, Nicolas Yanes Plata and his six siblings; Roberto Alonzo (Rosa), Miguel Alonzo, Juanita Badillo (Rogelio +) Rosa Anna Gomez ("Calio"), Maria Del Rosario Gomez and Jesus Alonzo (Aravelia). Family and friends will gather for a visitation on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 5 PM to 9 PM and a holy rosary reciting at 7 PM at Virgil Wilson Mortuary in Mission, TX. Cremation is set for a later day. Virgil Wilson of Mission is in charge of funeral arrangements.
