Kunio "Uchan" Uchino passed away peacefully at his home on April 30, 2026, at the age of 74.

Born on August 25, 1951, in Tokyo, Japan, Uchan began his work as a sushi chef at the age of 20 in Tokyo. In 1984, he continued his work at Kiku Japanese Restaurant in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Uchan was the beloved husband of Hiroko Uchino and a loving uncle to Maki Hattori. He will be deeply missed by his friends and extended family at Kiku Japanese Restaurant.

In keeping with his wishes, all services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, McMurray, PA.
