Sueichi "Suei" Kawashima of Hilo, HI has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved him.

Sueichi "Suei" Kawashima, 97, of Honokaa, died on March 7, 2026 at a private care home in Hilo. Born in Waipio Valley. He was a carpenter with the State of Hawaii. He was a member of Waipio Valley Taro Farmers Association, Hamakua Young Farmers, Honokaa Sei-Gi Kan Judo Club and Hamakua Jodo Mission. He was also a Honokaa Ki-Aikido Club instructor and a U.S. Army veteran. Private services held. Survived by sons, Irving Kawashima and Nathan (Ellen) Kawashima of Honokaa; daughter, Lynette (Sheldon) Takajo of Hilo; 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
