Victoria I. Carbajal of Denver, CO, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved her dearly.

What follows is a brief look at the life her family wishes to share.

A life is built quietly, day by day.

Victoria I. Carbajal, known fondly to all as Vicky, left an indelible mark on the hearts of those lucky enough to know her. Born on December 3, 1935, in Pueblo, Colorado, she lived a life brimming with warmth, zest, and an undeniable feistiness that defined her very spirit. She passed peacefully on April 23, 2026, in Denver, Colorado, at home surrounded by family—a serene end to a vibrant life.Vicky was a woman of many colors—honest to a fault, fiercely loving, funny, and caring all at once. Her personality radiated like sunshine over the mountains she loved. Speaking of which, it was there, up in her beloved cabin with a wood-burning stove, that Vicky found true joy. Visitors would inevitably be greeted with the irresistible aroma of freshly made homemade tortillas, perfectly paired with her famed green chile and beans—comfort food made by hands full of love and tradition.Music and movement filled Vicky’s soul. She danced and sang as though each day was a celebration. Games of bingo and cards were not merely pastimes but social rituals that brought laughter and community. Her heart beat strongly for the Broncos and the Rockies, loyally cheering them on as if her own spirit streaked across the fields and diamonds. And when it came to quiet moments, few things delighted her more than tuning into her favorite show, The Price Is Right, where vibrant excitement and joy met wonderful possibility.Family was the core of Vicky’s existence. She cherished moments spent with her grand children and great grandchildren, her eyes lighting up particularly while watching her great grandson Rome play sports. These ties infused her days with endless pride and affection. By her side throughout life and now remembering her still is her life partner Eligio, a steadfast presence of love. Her sons Kenneth (with Tracy) and James, daughters Alvera (with Patricia), Cynthia (with Patrick), and Lorraine (with Joe) carry forward her legacy. Grandsons Joey, Ryan and William, granddaughters Sarah, Danielle, Dominique, Desireé, and Aleah, along with five great grandsons and four great granddaughters, form a lively chorus of vitality around her memory. Vicky’s siblings Art, Chella, Gina, and Josie remain connected through bonds forged in shared history and love. Her journey was marked by both joy and loss. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill Martinez, her parents, and several brothers and sisters, whose memories weave into the larger tapestry of her life’s story.Victoria I. Carbajal’s life was a rich melody of love, laughter, and indomitable spirit. She leaves behind the echoes of her vibrant personality, the comfort of her kitchen’s warmth, and the legacy of a woman who embraced life fully, fiercely, and with an open heart. Her story—a testament to the beauty of honest living—will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. Please see below for service information.
