William Everett Conboy of Vero Beach, FL, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.

William held deeply to the Catholic faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

The community of faith holds its own well — and William was held.

William Everett Conboy, age 94, passed away peacefully at home on April 27, 2026.

William was born in the summer of 1931 in Utica, New York to Everett and Alice Conboy.

He attended New Hartford High School where he met the love of his life Joy Marley. Together they were happily married for 69 years.

William was a United States Marine veteran. He was in the Korean War and served with honor and distinction.

He retired after 25 years as a supervisor with the New York Thruway prior to moving to Vero Beach, Fl.

Survivors include his son Lawrence Conboy (Kandy), daughter Sharon Carissimo, many grandchildren, and multiples nieces and nephews.

William is predeceased by his parents Everett Conboy and Alice Dillon, loving wife Joy Conboy, son William Conboy, sister Margaret C. Scanlon, and granddaughter Brooke Carissimo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Holy Cross Catholic Church at 10:00 AM.

Interment of cremated remains with military honors is to follow at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 12:30 PM.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
