Bernice M. Davis of Gassaway, WV, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved her dearly.

Bernice M. Davis, 71, of Frametown passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 13, 1954, in Sutton, WV to the late Charles Groves and Charlotte Brown Groves.
Bernice had a strong work ethic and worked out of the home at several establishments as a cook. She enjoyed being around her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 41 years, Michael "Mike" L. Davis; son, Jason C. King (Angie); daughter, Rebeka Cavanaugh (Chris); grandchildren, Jessie, Orin, Ava, Ryker, and Lexi; sisters, Norma Bishop, Carol Shafer, Connie Myers, Betty Singleton, and Diane Hoffman; brothers, Gary Groves, Tom Groves, Dale Groves, Wally Groves, .and Bill Groves; several nieces and nephews; and close friend, Miss Betty; and lab mix furbaby, Lilly.
The family would like to give special thanks to WV Caring for their compassionate care of Bernice.
In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated and a Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.
