The family of Linda Mae Johnson of Gassaway, WV announces her passing, and invites all who knew her to remember her here.

What follows is not the whole story, but a thread of it.

The heart keeps better records than the calendar.

Linda Mae Johnson, 70, of Heaters, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 1, 2026. She passed away at WVU Medicine United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, WV after a battle with a short illness.

She was born on January 5, 1956, in Weston, WV to the late Stanton and Winnie Riffle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Riffle, Howard Riffle, Edward Riffle, Charles Riffle, Donnie Riffle, Harry Riffle, Harold Riffle, Joann Sprouse, Doris Arbogast, Shirley Ables, and Carolyn Tomblin; and her pride and joy, fur baby, Cheyanne.

Linda enjoyed loved being mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Mid State Church of God in Gassaway and enjoyed being around her church family. Watching soap operas and wrestling on the television was her favorite pastime. She had a green thumb for inside and outdoor plants. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Samantha Bush of Cowen, and April Richardson and husband, Travis, of Flatwoods; grandchildren, William Keener II, Dustin Keener, Destiny Stewart and husband, Jake, and Brittany Richardson; great grandchildren, Brayden Stewart, Audren Harper-Flinn and Ruth Ramsey; brother, Gary Riffle and wife, Jessie; sister, Mary Arbogast; twin sister, Brenda Heater and husband, Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.

Linda's visitation will be 6 to 8 P. M. Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, WV.

Her funeral will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, May 6th at the funeral home with Pastor Rodney England officiating.

Burial will follow in the Heater Cemetery, Burnsville.
