Jack had many passions and lived a life defined by dedication to his family and the things he loved. A devoted father, he supported his six children in all their interests-whether camping, fishing, birdwatching, or running-and was a constant, proud presence at their sporting events and school activities.
He was a deeply creative man who expressed himself through numerous oil paintings, and an inventive mind who held several patents. Jack also built a lasting legacy through his work as a skilled carpenter, constructing countless homes and caring for his own family home. He worked with Ryan Homes and later with the Urban Redevelopment Authority, contributing his talents to the community he cherished.
Above all, Jack was an avid runner, completing over 50 marathons, with the Marine Corps Marathon holding a special place in his heart. His passion for running was so profound that he authored a book titled Becoming a Runner, inspiring others to pursue the same joy and discipline that defined his life.
