Marie G. Seminatore of Woburn, MA, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved her dearly.

Below, the simplest tribute: the truth of a life as it was lived.

It is the small moments that often matter most.

MARIE G. SEMINATORE, of Woburn, died peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the age of 91.

A lifelong Woburn resident, Marie was born in Woburn, the daughter of the late Joseph and Marjorie (Ratcliff) Seminatore. She was educated in the Woburn schools and continued her studies at Bridgewater State Teachers College, where she pursued her passion for physical education, always knowing she was meant to be a phys ed teacher.

Marie devoted her entire 39-year career to the Woburn Public Schools, where she taught physical education and health. She began her career at Woburn High School before transitioning to the elementary level, where she spent the majority of her years. Regardless of where she taught, Marie was a dedicated and influential educator who left a lasting impact on generations of students.

Known for her strong will and unwavering standards, Marie approached teaching and coaching with passion, discipline, and pride. She expected the best from her students and athletes and worked tirelessly to help them achieve it. A talented and accomplished coach, she coached throughout her life at both the high school level and with numerous Woburn Little League softball teams, leading many to successful seasons. Her style was direct and no-nonsense-"her way or the highway"-but beneath that was a deep commitment to those in her care.

Outside of her professional life, Marie enjoyed music and film, especially The Sound of Music, and admired performers such as Harry Belafonte and Johnny Mathis. She was an avid traveler, taking numerous trips, with her favorites being Italy, the British Isles, and Hawaii. Independent and practical, she took great pride in her accomplishments, including using her first teaching paycheck toward the purchase of her first home, where she lived her entire life and shared many gatherings and celebrations with family and friends alike.

Marie was the beloved sister of the late Anne Guzzo and her husband Joseph "Joe," Josephine "Jo" Callahan and her late husband John of Connecticut, Marjorie "Bunny" Ryan and her late husband Jack of Woburn, and Roberta Rosa and her late husband Joseph of New Hampshire. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, along with cherished colleagues and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday, May 1st from 9:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery.
