JULIA C ATHERINE (HOLMES) WILSON – of Woburn, died peacefully with her family by her side on May 1st at the age of eighty-five. Devoted wife of nearly 64 years to Lawrence P. "Larry" Wilson. Beloved mother of John Wilson of VT, Jennifer McGovern and her husband James of Wakefield, and Alison Roque and her husband Harvey of NY. Dear sister of John "Jay" Holmes, Jr. and his wife Irena of Arlington, and the late Lawrence "Larry" Holmes and his late wife Kathleen "Pingy" Holmes. Treasured and proud grandmother of Colin, Laura, Kaiden, Kelsey, Michael, and Cari-Li. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, May 10th in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn. Her Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, May 11th at 10 a.m. in St. Barbara Church. Burial will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in her memory to the Joslin Diabetes Center.
JULIA CATHERINE (HOLMES) WILSON, of Woburn, passed away peacefully in the Lahey Clinic in Burlington on May 1st at the age of eighty-five, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Somerville, Ma-, Julie was raised with a deep appreciation for family, faith, and friendship. She was a graduate of Girls Catholic High School in Malden, where she formed lifelong friendships and carried those values throughout her life.
Julie lived a life centered around those she loved most. She was the beloved and devoted wife of nearly 64 years to Lawrence P. "Larry" Wilson, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, three children and unwavering partnership.
Julie was known for her warm and thoughtful nature. She never forgot a birthday, remembered even the smallest details about those she met, and had a remarkable ability to make lasting connections wherever she went. Her sharp memory, genuine kindness, and vibrant personality made her a cherished friend to many. She had a wonderful sense of style, loved taking and framing family pictures, had a love for collecting antiques, and especially enjoyed her weekly visits to Savers.
She found great joy in time spent with family, particularly during summers at Hampton Beach and trips to Cape Cod. Julie loved to dance, had a great sense of humor, and could light up any room with her presence. Always up for an adventure, she embraced new experiences, whether traveling, going on cruises, enjoying good food, or simply spending time with friends. Above all, her family was her greatest pride and joy.
She is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence P. "Larry" Wilson; her children, John Wilson of VT, Jennifer McGovern and her husband James of Wakefield, and Alison Roque and her husband Harvey of NY; her brother, John "Jay" Holmes, Jr. and his wife Irena of Arlington; her cherished grandchildren, Colin, Laura, Kaiden, Kelsey, Michael, and Cari-Li; and several loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Lawrence "Larry" Holmes, and his wife Kathleen "Pingy" Holmes.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to pay their respects in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, from 2:00–5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 10th. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Barbara Church on Monday, May 11th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in her memory to the Joslin Diabetes Center.
