Arthur Perkins III, 66, passed away on April 26.2026. Art (Artie to his childhood friends and family) was born in Pittsburgh but settled in Cranberry Township. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Perkins, Jr. and mother, Edythe Maude Smith. Beloved husband of 33 years of Yolanda Dingess: Loving father of Jonathan; brother of Deborah Sims (Theodore); Uncle Art to two generations of nieces and nephews. Art attended the University of Pittsburgh with the career goal of becoming a teacher like his mother Edythe but as life happened, he redirected his energy to being the stay-at-home father for their son, Dr. Jonathan Arthur Perkins. Art introduced Jonathan to swimming, tennis and golf, his personal favorites. Jonathan and Art traveled the country for junior tennis for many years. Art documented their adventures through his own growing love of photography. Art played tennis and football from a young age and enjoyed swimming and golf until his passing. Throughout their marriage, he captured the family trips to beaches, museums and national landmarks from NYC to LA, as he expanded his love of photography. Two things that would get Art out of bed early in a morning, trying to capture the perfect sunrise or an early tee time. He loved older movies and musicals and preferred the music of his youth, which he listened to on a daily basis. Art and Yolanda enjoyed years of charity work to benefit the children of the greater Pittsburgh area. Art was often heard telling others, "She's the brains and I'm the muscle" (as he dropped off toys, clothing and school supplies.) but Yolanda would say "he's the heart". Family and friends will be received for visitation on Friday, May 1st, 2026, from 2-4pm and 6-8 pm at the Devlin Funeral Home, North Hills, 806 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15229. A celebration of Art's life will take place on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, at Devlin Funeral Home. Art will be laid to rest at Allegheny County Memorial Park, 1600 Duncan Avenue, Allison Park, PA 15237. Art loved the children, so in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Angels Place, angelsplacepgh.org, for "the love of ART"
