Debra “Deb” Van Ort, age 70, of Willmar, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.A celebration of Deb’s life will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at her residence in Willmar (1102 16th Street NE). Arrangements are entrusted to Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.comDeb was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Howard and Audrey Van Ort, her in-laws Marvin and Laura Cox, her brother-in-law William Reetz, her sister-in-law, Denise Markeson, and her stepson, Jason Cox.She leaves behind her loving partner for over 30 years, Ken Cox of Willmar; her brothers Richard (Susan) Van Ort, Scott (Monica) Van Ort, and her sister Sonja Van Ort. She’s also survived by her stepdaughters Kim Metzger (Tim) of El Paso, Il; Karen Elias (Jason) of Ortonville, MN; Kari Cox of Willmar, MN; and her stepson Jeffrey Cox of Twin Falls, Idaho.Deb was a proud grandmother to Jason, Lea, Joshua, Adelynn jo, and Brylon. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and their children each one special to her in their own way.Deb was loved by so many. She had a warm smile, a kind heart, and a way of making everyone feel at home. She loved spending time with family and friends and sharing countless laughs around the table. She especially enjoyed those quiet days fishing with her brother Richard - and her nephew, Camron - her favorite way to unwind and soak in the peace of the outdoors.Though she’ll be missed beyond words, her spirit will live on in the memories, laughter, and love she shared with everyone around her.
