Paul R. Dixon of Logan, OH has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved him.

These pages are a small offering toward a much larger life.

Paul spent his working life as ['Kroger', 'Columbia Gas'] and held deeply to the Methodist faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew him best.

Service is its own kind of love — quiet, steady, often unseen.

Paul R. Dixon, age 94, of Logan, Ohio, passed away April 21, 2026, at The Pickering House, Lancaster, Ohio.

Paul was born on December 27, 1931, in Carbon Hill, Ohio to Willard Dixon and Louella James Dixon. He graduated from Murray City High School; served in the US Army, was a combat veteran in the Korean Conflict, and recipient of a Bronze Star; formerly worked at Kroger; retired from Columbia Gas, after 38 years of service; member of the Plains VFW; member of the Paramuthia Masonic Lodge #25 in Athens; and former member of The Plains United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of almost 70 years, Marcelyn Dixon; children, Bruce (Toni) Dixon of Newark, Deborah (Chris) Burdett of Chillicothe, Jeff Dixon of Little Hocking, and David (Tina) Dixon of Belleville, IL.; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, William Dixon, Ted Dixon, Judy Powers, and Bob Dixon.

Funeral services were held at 1 P.M., Friday April 24, 2026, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Rev. David Roach, officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio, where Military Graveside services were conducted by The Hocking County Honor Guard.
