Below, a small portrait of a life that will not soon be forgotten.
Becki spent her working life as ['licensed dental hygienist'] and held deeply to the Catholic faith — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.
Faith is a quiet companion through a long life. Becki's walked beside her.
Becki K. Schirmer At age 64, passed away peacefully at home on April 23, 2026. She was born on March 4, 1962, in Corning, New York, the daughter of the late George Kapral and Sharon Little.
Becki is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, Daniel Schirmer; her son, Paul; her daughter, Morgan (Schirmer) Koczent; her son-in-law, Zachary Koczent; and many beloved extended family members.
Becki attended Corning-Painted Post West High School, where she served as class president and excelled as a three-sport athlete in volleyball, basketball, and track. After high school, she moved to Rochester, New York, where she attended Monroe Community College and earned a degree in Dental Hygiene. She went on to build a rewarding career as a licensed dental hygienist, providing exceptional care to her patients. Equally meaningful to her were the lasting friendships she formed with dentists, colleagues, and the many individuals she served throughout her career.
Becki was known by family and friends for her kindness, generosity, and natural inclination to put the needs of others before her own. She gave her time to numerous charitable causes within the community she loved. For many years, she organized "Becki's Brigade" in support of breast cancer awareness in Rochester. While raising her children, she was also actively involved in the PTA, HF-L Sports Boosters, and initiatives that provided dental care to underserved members of the community.
Becki's greatest joy was spending time with her husband, children, and close friends. She enjoyed many activities, including time at Keuka Lake, traveling internationally to warm destinations, hosting gatherings in her home, and watching professional football each fall and winter. She was a passionate Buffalo Bills season ticket holder and a proud member of "Bills Mafia".
