Bobby Joe Bellah of Oklahoma City, OK, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.

Here is a glimpse of the life he lived, in his family's own remembrance.

Bobby's children carry forward what was given to them.

Bobby Joe Bellah, 92, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family at 12:36pm on May 2, 2026 in Oklahoma City.

He was born on December 21, 1933 in Rocky Oklahoma, to James and Gertrude Bellah. Having lost his father at the young age of 13, Bob had to work to help support he and his mother. He graduated from Arapaho High School with a graduating class size of just 12 seniors. He was an MP in the US Army in 1957 & 1958 while stationed in Germany and again in 1960 & 1961 while stationed at Fort Chaffee in Fort Smith Arkansas after being called back in. He worked for Meadowgold Dairy in Oklahoma City for a few years before acquiring work at Tinker Airforce Base where we would work until retirement. Mutual friends introduced him to Doris Shelton whom he would marry on February 14, 1959. He was a loving husband, devoted father and proud grandfather and great grandfather. Bob was an active adult leader in the Cub Scouts, Webelos and Boy Scouts, helping young boys grow into responsible young men. He loved playing with and teasing his grandkids and they loved teasing him back. He and Doris were sure to attend every Cub Scout or Boy Scout event, sports activity, school program, awards assembly, etc., to show support and love for their grandchildren. They also loved watching sports, from bowling to NASCAR, on TV, especially OU sports and Dallas Cowboy football. He and Doris enjoyed many different activities over the years, including church bowling league, long road trip vacations via car or RV, Alaskan Cruises, winter ski trips, OU football season tickets, road trips to Vegas & Laughlin, short vacations with the grandkids, trips to see old friends, and their weekly card game with a couple with whom they were lifelong friends. Bob was very handy and could fix just about anything from plumbing, household electrical, lawn mowers, washing machines, dryers and of course anything on wheels. Bob never met a stranger as he could strike up a conversation with anyone anytime and anywhere.

He is preceded in death by his wife of nearly 66 year, Doris Bellah and his oldest grandson, Jared Bellah. He is survived by two children, Stephen Bellah and wife Yvonne and Glenda (Bellah) Ness. Five grandchildren Erik Bellah, Jeremy Ness, Natalee (Bellah) White and husband Ty and Kelsey Ness. Three great grandchildren, Lillies Bellah, Brylee White and Charlee White.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the Dementia Society of America in Bob Bellah's name.
