Wendy Anne Lake of Oklahoma City, OK, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved her dearly.

Wendy spent her working life as ['hair designer and was extremely talented', 'singing trio accompanied by her dad'] — and was, by all accounts, loved by those who knew her best.

Wendy Anne Lake, born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, on August 6, 1942, passed from this life on May 5, 2026, at the age of 83.
Wendy attended Abbott Elementary and then South Side High School in Ft. Wayne and finished her senior year at Harding High School and John Marshall High School when the family moved to Oklahoma City. She was always smiling and friendly. She had an active social life in school and at church.
As an adult, she loved learning and after attending Beauty College began her working career as a hair designer and was extremely talented. Wendy had a long list of clientele in Dayton, Ohio, Tempe, Phoenix, and Bisbee, Arizona. She had always been interested in art, painting, and stained-glass projects. Other interests were architecture, philosophy, religion, and especially music. As a teenager, she and two of her friends had a short career as a singing trio accompanied by her dad. Wendy loved the ocean and aquatic animals which she painted often. She loved her dogs and birds. More than anything, she loved her family, and emojis. Wendy was an outstanding mother – best of the best.
She is preceded in death with her parents, mother, June Helen (Shupe) Lake 1923-1982, Ft. Wayne, Indiana; her father, Donald Earl Lake, Sr., 1914-2002, Rockford, Illinois; brother, Donald Earl Lake, Jr., 1944-2021, Ft. Wayne, Indiana; granddaughter, Samantha June Tarver, April 1994, Oklahoma City.
Wendy is survived by sister, Hilarie Lee (Lake) Supensky & husband, Greg Supensky, Sr.; sister, Nancy Susan (Lake) Duffy & husband, Dennis L. Duffy, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; son, Jeffery Wade Tarver & wife, Anissa Tarver, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter, DeAnn McElhaney husband, James McElhaney, of Nacogdoches, Texas; daughter, Gretchen Wiegand & husband, Mike Wiegand, of Red Rock, Arizona; daughter, London Bridges of Silver City, New Mexico; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.
Wendy touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
