Ellen Anita Siegel of Rochester, NY has gone home, leaving behind a circle of those who loved her.
The chapters of her life were many; these are some of them.
There is no greater gift than the one a parent gives by simply being present.
Passed away on April 21, 2026, at the age of 80. Predeceased by her parents, Solomon and Mildred [Merimsky] Segelin. Survived by her husband, Bary Siegel; children, Jill (Rob Sharp) Schorr, Karen (Dale) Steiner and Shayna (Michael) Glicksman; grandchildren, Rachel (Nisar) Qayumzada, Julia Schorr, Daniel Schorr, Marisa Steiner, Lily Schorr, Gabrielle Glicksman and Amanda Glicksman; mother-in-law, Mary Gilbert; numerous cousins and dear friends.
Ellen Anita was a lifelong Rochesterian. She attended School #23 and Monroe High School. She was a graduate of the University of Rochester. Proud and loving mother and grandmother. She had a lifelong passion for theater, opera, and music as well as arts and literature.
She worked as a library clerk at the Henrietta Public Library for over 20 years and fostered over 100 cats and kittens from Lollypop Farm. She was a knitter and cross stitcher, and was never without a book or chocolate.
Funeral Services will be held on THURSDAY April 23, 2026 at 10 AM in All Seasons Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park [ 210 Marsh Road in Pittsford ]. CLICK HERE for a map to the cemetery.
