Joseph D. Uttaro of Rochester, NY, has passed away, leaving behind a family and community who loved him dearly.
What you read below is one part of a life lived with quiet purpose.
A name is a small thing to hold a whole life.
Uttaro, Joseph D. II
Of Webster, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at age 62. Predeceased by his father, Joseph D. Uttaro; several aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Uttaro and Gaudino families here and in Italy. He is survived by his mom, Immaculate Uttaro; sister and brother, Angela Uttaro and Cosmo Uttaro (Christine Young); nieces, Bernadette Clarke (Andrew Rosewarne) and Elizabeth Clarke (Evan Green); aunt, Theresa Gaudino; godson, Tyler Bailey; dear cousins Ann Marie (David S.) Bailey; many other dear cousins here and in Italy.
Joe and his mom, Immaculate, did everything together. He was devoted to her care and she enjoyed his company. They even went crashing through Wegmans and Tops together on their motorized carts. He was also devoted to his family, relishing get togethers with them and competing at holidays on who made better Easter bread or Christmas cookies. Ever the "rock star", he kept in touch with his musician friends and was always hopeful of getting the band back together. He actually wrote some decent music. We would pick on each other constantly, but we really loved our son and brother and are grateful how he intensely cared for us all.
His services will be announced at a later date. Those wishing, memorial donations may be directed to Wilmot Warrior Weekend Mary's Angels (https://teamraiser.rochester.edu/site/TR/TeamRaiserTemplate/General?pg=entry&fr_id=1530).
