It is with sorrow and gratitude that we mark the passing of Kristen Lacy of Louisville, KY — sorrow at the loss, gratitude for the life.
Here is the shape of a life remembered with love.
Years are made of mornings, and mornings of moments.
LOUISVILLE - Kristen R. (Harwood) Lacy, 54, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2026, with her husband and lifelong best friend, Todd, by her side.
Kristen and Todd shared 31 beautiful years of marriage and built a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to their family. Together, they raised two daughters, Kaitlyn Lacy of Louisville and Taylor Lacy of Nashville. If you asked Kristen, her greatest accomplishments in life were her daughters-whom she loved fiercely and was endlessly proud of.
Born on January 29, 1972, in Louisville, Kentucky, Kristen was the beloved daughter of Darrell and Bonnie Harwood. She graduated from Moore High School, Class of 1990, and went on to earn her Bachelor of Business Administration from Bellarmine University.
Kristen dedicated many years of her career to UPS, was a co-founder of the Urban Farmhouse Market, and found her most meaningful role as a Move-In Coordinator at Masonic Homes of Kentucky, where she made countless people feel welcomed, cared for, and at home.
If you knew Kristen, you loved her-but more importantly, you knew she loved you. She had a special gift for knowing exactly what someone needed to feel seen, cared for, and taken care of-while also knowing exactly what they should be wearing. Kristen was a true fashionista, always showing up overdressed in the best possible way. In her mind, there was no occasion where kitten heels weren't appropriate-and she wasn't taking no for an answer.
Kristen was the life of the party-if there wasn't one, she was creating her own. She loved a good laugh, often at her husband Todd's expense-and he wouldn't have had it any other way. Her energy, humor, and presence were magnetic, and she had a way of making every moment feel like something worth celebrating.
Kristen was the glue that held her family together, and her absence will be felt deeply and forever. She lived fully, loved deeply, and left this world the way she wanted to-surrounded by love, after a life well-lived.
She did it her way.
She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Todd Lacy; daughters, Kaitlyn Lacy and Taylor Lacy; her "son," Weller; her parents, Darrell and Bonnie Harwood; and many extended family members and dear friends who will carry her memory forward.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00–7:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, and from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at Highlands Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Masonic Homes of Kentucky, 3701 Frankfort Avenue, Louisville, KY 40207.
