With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Michael Loren Lynch of Louisville, KY.

Honor is not a word lightly given. Michael earned it.

Michael Loren Lynch passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with ALS.

Mike was born on July 27, 1944 in Fort Smith, AR, a son of the late Loren Lynch and Lois Lynch. Because his father served in the US Army Medical Corp, he spent his childhood living in several US States, as well as post-WWII Germany and Japan. He settled in San Antonio, TX as a teen, then followed his father's example by serving his country for 4 years in the US Army. His nomadic lifestyle ended in 1974 when he and Ron Altman started GLA Collection Company in Louisville, KY where many of his coworkers became like family.

Mike's favorite activity was spending time with his family and friends whether it was on the golf course, traveling, or over a good meal.

Throughout his 81 years, Mike touched many lives with his wisdom, kindness, generosity, and unwavering good humor.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Lynch, and his sister, Melissa Ogburn. He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne Lynch, his son, Patrick Lynch (Kerry), his son, Kyle Lynch, his daughter, Beth Dill (Gordon) and 5 grandchildren: Kassidy Helmke (Austin), Michael Lynch, Patrick Lynch, Morgan Dill and Anna Dill; his sister, Lisa Nagel (Chris); his nieces, Cerenity Veytia (Jon) and Katie Jackson (her sons, Theo and Stoney), nephews Larry Ogburn and Yeater Lynch.

Funeral services will be held at 10am., Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Rd, Louisville, KY. Friends and family may visit from 3-7pm, Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the funeral home.
